Flights = Cheapest fare

Cheapest fare, is this the only value-add flights can provide? and when everybody is providing lowest possible fare, it is no more a value add..... it has just become a norm in the airline industry.... you search for flights in travel search engine, and by default it sorts by lowest price first. Why can't I have 5 more sort options based on value-added services? Put flights in google and this is what you get? cheap cheap cheap

Is there a way that I can charge few 100 bucks extra and still make consumers buy tickets from me? give me your options? what are those value-adds / service differentiations which can help me charge more and still beat the competition? put your wild ideas here

  1. Food can be one option I guess...today most flights I believe let u choose from their standard menu card...u can provide the option of letting customers have their customized menu x, y, z...charge few extra for this...m sure ppl will pay for it...one can do anything for good food...especially in longer flights...

    Also, dey can make the journey more entertaining...like hvng a DJ or sumthng...

    One innovative idea could be allowing people to go inside cockpit for few mins...jst to see inside it...see how the pilots fly n all....

    M not sure if these are already available in sum flights...i travelled in Emirates economy class..and dese features were missing...

  2. I still feel that price is still the key. in US, flights are dead cheap. They are dead cheap. Hence, they are able to create the volume in their business. Air Deccan was correct in its approach and could have taken this stream to new height but they cashed in quickly or they were not left with sufficient funds to operate further.
